Newburgh Free Academy Hosts: Newburgh Through the Lens of Art Show
On ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ, November 1, 2018, from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Newburgh Free Academy’s Main Campus, Eagle’s Nest Gallery, local collections of paintings and prints that highlight Newburgh’s history, architecture and natural beauty were shown. This show highlighted over 40 watercolors, colorful oil paintings as well as pencil sketches. We are grateful to the many people who have graciously loaned their private art to be displayed and also look forward to introducing student creations.
The art show is organized by the NFA Social Studies department to benefit the NFA Debate team. The Newburgh Through the Lens of Art Show 2018 offers intimately scaled and creatively mixed interpretations of Newburgh during the last two centuries. These presentations will foster active conversations with students and guests about Newburgh’s past and bright future.
Free admission, but organizers will be accepting donations at the door. There will also be a silent auction for a few of the pieces of art.
One photo displays local artist Chuck Tudor with NFA scholar Roxenne Contreras as they discuss water color techniques. Also shown is a photo of a painting of Downing Park by NFA 12th grade scholar, Roxenne Contreras. Approximately 80 people experienced the show.
