Temple Hill Academy Harnesses the Power of the K-8 Structure

At Temple Hill Academy, collaborative events create positive connections and powerful memories for students and staff alike. On Halloween, grades K-2 paraded around the building in costume while the upper grades cheered them on. “I was impressed by the respect that was shown to the little kids. They were cute and everyone enjoyed the parade,” remarked 7th grader, Sofia Mucci

On December 21st, 7th graders and Kindergarten students enjoyed a shared reading experience, bonding over entertaining stories, discussion, and gingerbread cookies.  “The experience with the young cubs was fun and interesting. They were all engaged and focused on the story. This helped plant the seed that literature is important,” said Moises Lopez, a seventh grader.

Here is what Ms. Antonacchio’s Kindergarten Class had to say...

HALLOWEEN PARADE

Jah’Rise Herring We dressed up in costumes and we had treats.  We got to show our costumes to everyone.  It made people happy.  My parents were happy and smiling at me.

Adriana Funez People were looking at us.   We were showing our costumes.  Mine was a pink skeleton.  The big kids were waving at us.  The kids that go on my bus were waving at me.  I was so happy.

Aidan Tennant It was Halloween.  We were walking around the school.  We were wearing our costumes.  We went around the whole school.  We went upstairs.  We went downstairs.  People were out of their rooms and people were waving.  It was fun.  We went to the cafeteria and showed people our costumes.

BUDDY READING

Oshane Foreshaw Jr. We went upstairs to the 7th graders.  He was reading a ninja book to me.  I liked that he was nice and kindful to me.  The Fly Guy book was good, too.  It was fun upstairs.

Alice Gil I liked it because I read a book that was really funny.  This girl, her name was Michelle, I got to talk to her and ask her questions.  I liked the cookies.

Jesus Cortes-Guevara We read books and I liked the Ninjabread Man book.  We ate cookies and we also drank lemonade.  I was having fun there because someone read me a book.  It was really, really fun.

Levi Schwind We read books and ate cookies and drank lemonade.  I read a book with Jordan.  He read it to me.  It was awesome because I like to read books and eat.
