Interim Director of Technology Serves as Keynote Speaker at MSMC Conference
Mr. John Krouskoff, Interim Director of Technology for the ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ District served as the keynote speaker for a Faculty Development Day that was held at Mount Saint Mary College. The topic of the day: Emerging Technologies. The presentation by Mr. Krouskoff hoped to answer the question: What emerging technologies influence K-12 learners and how are these technologies transforming student learning and engagement? Mr. Krouskoff provided an examination of resources and trends disrupting the status quo and strategies for leveraging such opportunities.

An active member of the Google Apps for Education community, Krouskoff is a Google Certified Teacher/ Administrator (San Antonio 2010), Trainer, Innovator, and Level 1/Level 2 Educator and a CoSN Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL). He is also a two-time recipient of the prestigious Lower Hudson Regional Information Center (LHRIC) Technology Director Pioneer Award (2009 and 2013).
Krouskoff began his career in education in 1988 as an English teacher and in 1997 he left the classroom to pursue a series of opportunities in technology and education. He served as Technology Director for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns from 1999-2007 and as Director of Instructional Technology at the Clarkstown Central School District from 2007-2014.
At Clarkstown, Krouskoff led a core team of committed educators and initiated the district-wide move to Google Apps for Education, resulting in a transformation to online collaborations, increased student engagement, and the purposeful implementation of 21st century skills. He and his team of teachers worked directly with Google on several key projects, including the CR48 pilot (which became Chromebooks), Google Classroom/Classroom Mobile and Google Expeditions.
In early 2014, Krouskoff co-founded the Emerging Technologies service at LHRIC, hiring a team of Google Certified Educators to lead the move to Google Apps for Education for eight districts in the region.
Krouskoff currently serves as Interim Executive Director of Information and Technology in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York where he works with teachers, administrators, and instructional technology specialists.
