NFA P-TECH Scholars and Mentors Talk Resumes and Internships

NFA P-TECH Scholars in year 3 and their IBM mentors met for a session to discuss resumes and summer internship plans. Each scholars in the NFA P-TECH program is paired with a mentor to facilitate learning professional skills as high school scholars explore career options. Scholars and their mentors meet regularly throughout the year to develop professional skills.

Established in 2014, the ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ District, SUNY Orange, and IBM, Newburgh Free Academy P-TECH provides students the opportunity to graduate with both a high school diploma and an Associate’s in Applied Sciences Degree in either Computer Networking or Cyber Security.

NFA P-TECH focuses on helping students acquire the professional skills necessary to be successful in the career world; once students complete our 4-6 year program, they have the opportunity to enter directly into the workforce or continue with higher education. During their time at NFA P-TECH, students take college courses alongside traditional high school classes as they work toward both degrees in an environment that not only invites them into the world of information technology but also challenges them to be innovative and intentional in every endeavor.

ATTENTION: Are your scholars or colleagues doing something great? Please contact the district Communications Team at communications@necsd.net. We’d love to visit your class or event and/or post your pictures and recap to highlight the amazing accomplishments throughout our district!
