Cast and Crew of NFA Spring Musical Celebrate and Support Puerto Rico
The cast and crew of Newburgh Free Academy’s spring musical, In the Heights, organized an evening of celebration and support for Puerto Rico. From NFA to Puerto Rico: An Evening of Dance, Music, Food, and Giving included a request for essential supplies or a small donation. The night was filled with salsa lessons, good food, and performances from their upcoming show.
The event was organized by NFA Main assistant principal Mr. Roberto Cruz and NFA Main Dance Teacher and Spring Musical Director, Mrs. Mandy Clifford.
Maritza Calderon-Caballero and Kattya Fernandez led the salsa lessons during the first hour of the event. The DJ for the event was Gianni Perez. Several parents, family members, and teachers provided food for the event.
Donated items will be sent to Maricao, Puerto Rico. Suggested donation items included: Clothes, blankets, diapers, baby wipes, adult wipes, socks, soap (bars), toothpaste, toothbrushes, toilet paper, cleaning wipes, feminine pads, small containers that can safety be used to store water, cleaning gloves, tents/tarps, small toys, activity/coloring books & crayons.
The NFA Spring Musical In the Heights will be held on Friday and Saturday, March 13th and 14th at 7pm and Sunday, March 15th at 2pm.
