¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Launches New Strategic Plan: Imagine 2025
The ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ District is launching their new strategic plan, Imagine 2025, which encompasses goals for the next five years. Prioritizing outcomes around Teaching & Learning, Wellness, Transformative Leadership, and Efficient Operations, the plan maps out yearly checkpoints of progress that focus on the future.
Planning for the new strategic plan began in October 2019 with a Design Team that represented ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ faculty, staff, and administrators, as well as parent and community members.
“The Year of 2020 has been a test of endurance. At the time of this new strategic plan, our country is battling a global health crisis, an economic crisis, and a systematic racism crisis. All across the country, schools have had to reimagine what teaching and learning entails in a remote environment. The ability to unlearn and relearn will be the new test on how schools respond to the pandemics. The needs of our scholars during the ‘2020 academic pause’ will have ramifications over the duration of this strategic plan. However, in the ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ District, we see these unprecedented challenges as opportunities,” shared in a joint letter from Board of Education President, Ms. Carole Mineo and ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Superintendent, Dr. Roberto Padilla
The first year of the strategic plan will focus on any academic deficits that scholars may face as a result of the pandemic. The remaining four years have been mapped out to focus on annual priorities as well as sprint goals that will be monitored on a monthly basis.
Additionally, the plan highlights “The Portrait of a Graduate,” highlighting skills of collaboration, divergent thinking, endurance, analytic thinking, and empathy that we expect each graduate of Newburgh Free Academy to possess.
The full plan, including members of the Accountability Team can be found on the Imagine 2025 website: NewburghSchools.org/imagine
