Senator James Skoufis Presents to Heritage Middle School Scholars About Earth Day Contest
New York Senator James Skoufis presented to approximately 100 middle school scholars at Heritage Middle School to discuss the . Scholars in grades K-6 are invited to work independently or in teams to create posters in celebration of Earth Day. The theme this year: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The Senate’s focus is to emphasize the importance of recycling and waste reduction, to encourage the exchange of ideas about recycling and waste reduction among schools, children and adults and to stimulate creative thinking about solutions to problems concerning recycling and waste reduction.
When talking about the contest, Senator Skoufis discussed ways that students and their families could help protect the environment. He discussed a bill that he is sponsoring to reduce green house emissions. Senator Skoufis also took questions from the scholars in attendance.
Deadline: All submissions must be uploaded to the website by April 19, 2021.
