Understanding Scholar's Social Emotional Wellbeing

Dear Parents & Guardians,

The ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Division of Student Support Services understands the importance of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and the impact that this COVID-19 Pandemic has had on our school community. Part of our ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Reopening Plan includes gaining a better understanding of our scholars’ social emotional wellbeing upon transitioning back to full time in-person learning.

One strategy we have developed includes implementing a voluntary SEL survey for our scholars in Grades 3-12, along with an SEL survey completed by the teachers in Grades K-2 based on their observations of students in the classroom. The results of this survey will help us to determine how we can best support the Social Emotional Learning needs of our school community. We will then conduct another survey at the end of this school year to tell us if our response to the beginning of the year survey made a positive impact on our scholars.

We are looking forward to hearing from our scholars about how we can best support their social emotional needs through this difficult time.

Estimados padres y tutores:

ATTENTION: Are your scholars or colleagues doing something great? Please contact the district Communications Team at communications@necsd.net. We’d love to visit your class or event and/or post your pictures and recap to highlight the amazing accomplishments throughout our district!
