Today is Pi Day! We're celebrating by highlighting some NFA alumni who share how they use math every day!
Meet Jerome Pickett, Executive Vice President and Chief Security Officer for the NBA (National Basketball Association)! Mr. Pickett attended GAMS, New Windsor School, and South Middle School before graduating from Newburgh Free Academy. He went on to receive degrees from Marist College and American Military Academy. Meet the Honorable Joanne Matthews Forbes, for the City of Newburgh! Judge Matthews Forbes attended GAMS and Meadow Hill School, before graduating from Newburgh Free Academy in 1985. Judge Matthews Forbes is a first generation American and English language learner. She is also a proud Goldback as an alumnus and parent to two NFA alumni. Meet Ryan Fucheck, meteorologist for the National Weather Service. Mr. Fucheck attended Fostertown School and North Junior High before graduating from Newburgh Free Academy in 2007. Meet Mikal Myers, Outside Linebacker Coach for the University of Maine! Coach Myers attended GAMS and North Junior High before graduating from Newburgh Free Academy in 2012.
