Today is National School Nurse Day!
Our school nurses, school nurse teachers, and nurse practitioners, develop close relationships with students and families to conduct health care services, collaborate with, inform, and educate principals, school psychologists, social workers, school counselors, coaches, teachers, and the Family and Community Engagement Team (among others), help with and ensure all physical exams are conducted for school and athletic participation, screen for vision and hearing, administer medication, develop care plans, and make sure students are in compliance with getting their vaccinations, among a multitude of other roles and responsibilities.
