NFA Main Campus Recognizes World Kidney Cancer in Support of Educator
World Kidney Cancer Day, an initiative of the International Kidney Cancer Coalition, is a global healthcare event commemorated every year on the 3rd ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ of June to promote awareness about kidney cancer disease worldwide. This year 2023, World Kidney Cancer Day is observed on ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ, June 15th.
NFA teacher and athletic coach, Andy Toback had had Kidney Cancer in 2019 and has worked to raise awareness ever since. This year Coach Toback had students partake in a physical activity to help raise awareness of the roughly 82k people that will be diagnosed. Students did 82 push ups in honor and recognition of those 82k people.
An informational table for the faculty and staff was also set up to help them gather info and resources about Kidney Cancer to promote prevention.
