A letter from our Superintendent, Dr. Jackie Manning Campbell
February 16, 2024
Dear ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ students and families,
As we enjoy our February recess, I’m hopeful that our school community will pause and reflect on the first portion of our school year. Please take time to assess the goals that you and your child(ren) set at the beginning of the school year and readjust as needed. Some will be updating their goals that have already been achieved, while others may be adjusting their approach toward achieving their original goals.
If you find yourself in the position of falling short of your goals - you still have time left! Take a look at the habits you’ve created at home that may help achieve your goals.
- Create a quiet environment before bedtime
- Ask questions about your child’s day and give them time to respond
- Lay out clothes and school supplies the night before
- Limit screen time for 1-2 hours before bedtime
- Take 15 minutes to read with your child before bed |
- Make sure your child is in bed with ample time for rest and sleep
- Practice and role model good attendance habits
- Ask for help when you need it! We are all here to support you!
Parents/guardians are our children’s first and forever teachers. We must work together as partners to support the academic success of each child. Our teachers, social-emotional teams, and administrators are here to help! Please let us know how we can support you in creating healthy habits at home, so your child(ren) is ready to learn when they arrive at school each day.
Sincerely,
Dr. J. Manning Campbell
Superintendent of Schools
