Empty Bowls is Back!
It is that time of year for our annual tradition at NFA to help the many hungry people in our area, and we need you to make it a success. For those new to the NFA community, Empty Bowls is a national network of volunteer efforts to provide hunger relief. All proceeds go to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley, the main supplier to local food pantries and soup kitchens.
Mr. Joshua Lipira and his ceramics students will be making one-of-a-kind ceramic bowls. Members of the Empty Bowls Committee will be getting the supplies ready. The gracious cafeteria staff will make several delicious soups and Mr. Morrison and his students will be baking trays of delicious brownies. Our area businesses donate all parts of the meal and this year we will raffle beautiful baskets made by our faculty and staff! Raffle tickets for baskets will sold at the event only.
On ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ, April 18, 2024, from 5:00 - 7:00pm at NFA Main Campus in Cafeteria B, we will serve a simple meal of soup, bread, and salad while being serenaded by our Music Department. The donation for each meal is $18 but you keep the ceramic bowl to remind you all year that there are plenty among us who face empty bowls each day.
We have a limited number of bowls available so tickets are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are unable to attend, we will gratefully accept your donation to help fill the many empty bowls in our community and set aside a ceramic bowl for you.
Please use this form to order your tickets and/or contribute in the form of a CHECK made payable to the FOOD BANK OF THE HUDSON VALLEY or CASH. You can place your order in Melissa McKinstrie’s mailbox at NFA Main Office. Event tickets will be placed in your mailbox.
Thank you for your continued support of this event!
