GRAND OPENING | Newburgh Free Library - Town Branch
The ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ District and Newburgh Free Library are pleased to announce the opening of the new Town Branch location at 181 South Plank Road, Suite #2 in the Town of Newburgh - look for our sign!
A bright and cheery space dedicated to connecting Town residents to our Newburgh Free Library services, the new branch will offer the latest titles in all genres, provide space for community programs, and be a convenient pick-up and drop-off location for patrons’ library materials.
Hours of operation will be Monday, Tuesday, ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ, and Friday from 10am-6pm; Wednesday 12pm-8pm; and Saturday 10am-2pm.
On Monday, April 22nd, we hosted a ribbon cutting for the new space. Remarks were given by ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Superintendent, Dr. Jackielyn Mainning Campbell, library Director, Ben Gocker, Town of Newburgh Supervisor Gil Piaquadio, NYS Senator Rob Rolison, and NYS Assemblyman Jonathan Jacobson.
Joining in the celebration were ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Board Vice President, Mark Levinstein, ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Board members Carole Mineo, Philip Howard, and Ray Harvey; Town Deputy Supervisor Scott Manley and Town Councilmember Anthony LoBiondo; Town Historian Mr. Alan Crawford; Ms. Suzanne Dawes, President of the Friends of the Library, with several Friends of the Newburgh Free Library members; ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Deputy Superintendent Mr. Ed Forgit, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Natasha Freeman-Mack, and former Director of the Newburgh Free Library, Mary Ellen Leimer.
NFA alumnus and local artist, was creating a live painting during the event. His murals decorate the bright and colorful space, providing a welcoming a fun atmosphere for patrons of all ages.
