Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 12pm - 9pm - ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Budget Vote/Board of Education Election

Unofficial Results were released. 

¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Budget defeated.

Board Member Candidates were results too close to determine seats and term lengths. 

Canvassing of Affidavit Ballots – Section 2019-a Ed Law will be followed to determine seats and term lengths.

Unofficial results (called in from polling sites on the night of the vote) are compared against machine totals and verified by the District Clerk and Board appointed Poll Clerks, as is the process in every election.

Meeting held to Approve Poll Clerks to Canvass the Affidavit Ballots and Approve the Meeting Date for the Canvassing of Affidavit Ballots.

The BOE approved Poll Clerks to Canvass the Affidavit Ballots and the meeting date for the Canvassing of Affidavit Ballots for Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 6pm.

Board of Education Auditorium

The Board approved Poll Clerks and District Clerk will review and canvass affidavit ballots during the public meeting in the Board of Education Auditorium. 

After the Affidavit Ballots are reviewed and cast or rejected, the Board of Education will canvass the Votes and certify the election results. 

Following the Canvass of Votes on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 - BOE Regular Meeting

Candidates declared elected to the unexpired term seats will take the oath of office as members of the Board of Education. The candidate with the highest number of votes, by operation of law, will be sworn in to the unexpired term (5+ weeks) immediately preceding their full three-year term. The candidates with the fourth, fifth, and sixth highest vote totals will be sworn in to the unexpired term seats (two seats ending in June 2025 and one seat ending in June 2026), with the highest verified totals, in descending order.

Note:  The three candidates with the highest number of votes will be sworn in to the full three-year term seats at the annual organizational meeting in July 2024.

The Board of Education, comprised of the five (5) current Board members and the elected Board members after taking the oath of office will determine the next steps with regard to the Budget.  

Legally, the Board of Education has three options when a budget is defeated.
