NFA Fall Musical Little Shop of Horrors | Recap
Newburgh Free Academy Performed Little Shop of Horrors thanks to the generous donation of the intricate plant props needed to interact with the cast to make the story come to life. The life-sized props were donated by Bill Diamond Productions and Diamond Custom Fabrication. Additionally, alongside his daughter Dakota Diamond, Mr. Richard Diamond donated his time and expertise to operate the man-eating prop plant for rehearsals and the shows. Dakota has been involved in productions in Fostertown Elementary School and South Middle School.
Little Shop of Horrors follows meek but well-meaning Seymour, as he works for a flower shop on Skid Row. One day, Seymour’s luck begins to change when a mysterious, smooth-talking, plant appears out of nowhere, promising the young botanist fame, fortune, and the love of his life, Audrey, for the mere price of human blood. A parody of 1950s horror and science fiction movies, Little Shop of Horrors explores the lengths we are willing to go in order to succeed.
