South Middle School Teacher Sparks Student Interest in World of Science
South Middle School teacher, Mr. Marks, uses creative methods to spark students' interest in the world of science. During a recent lesson, he demonstrated the captivating effects of dry ice, which is solid carbon dioxide (CO2) that sublimates directly into gas without passing through the liquid phase. This demonstration was part of their physical science unit, where students explored how matter changes with temperature. To deepen their understanding, Mr. Marks incorporated a writing-based component, where students were tasked with documenting their observations and reflecting on the scientific principles behind dry ice, helping them connect scientific concepts with written expression and critical thinking skills.
