66 Scholars from NFA North Campus Earn Security Certificates
Sixty-six scholars from Newburgh Free Academy, North Campus received certificates as a result of completion of work with the Criminal Justice and Emergency Management courses offered at their high school. The certificates can be activated once scholars turn 18, if they haven’t already, and will allow them to become security guards.
Graduates have worked in places like Target, nearby casinos, or at their local colleges as a result of the certificates earned from this program. Since 2002, 1,100 scholars have completed these programs. The courses are offered to students at no charge. Graduates are required to take refresher courses to renew their certificates on occasion should they wish to stay in a field related to security.
